On Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th February, Waverley Mall was a hive of harmonious hubbub as we played host to the official auditions for The X Factor 2019, due to be screened on STV in the autumn.

Auditions kicked off at 9am on Saturday and saw a steady stream of wannabe pop-stars enter a specially erected pod, in a bid to impress the auditions team throughout the day. The X Factor team returned on Sunday to catch more X Factor hopefuls from across the country.

The auditions wrapped up at 6pm on Sunday evening with the team taking away a bumper collection of audition clips to put forward to the judges and a number of successful applicants receiving call backs to the next round of auditions.

Plus, a series of talented young artists who took to our stage across the weekend attracted the attention of The X Factor’s auditions team, while they entertained customers of our food court.

Our affinity with musical talent has been growing since the installation of the stage in our food court 18 months ago, which was replaced for the weekend by a more professional set up on a trial basis. We’ve seen the stage enjoy increasing popularity with young musicians, hungry for the experience and desire for recognition over the last few months and would love to continue to see it grow.
